Paradise: How to Make the Refreshing Summer Cocktail You Need

How to make the Paradise. A fruity, tropical, refreshing summer cocktail you need to keep you cool as the weather warms up!

Paradise: The Refreshing Summer Cocktail You Need

Me, I’m not really a fruity, sweet cocktail drinker, but there are a lot of people out there who are. This is a boozy, fruity, tropical creation. I created this when we were on a “diet”. We did not want any added sugar, but still wanted a tasty cocktail. (You can only drink so many vodkas and sodas before you lose your tastebuds.) We call it the “Paradise”, and it is the refreshing summer cocktail you need to keep you cool as the weather warms up!

I know, I know. Some of you may be saying: “but aren’t there added sugars in flavored vodka?” Yes, you are correct. Alcohol manufacturers are not required to list the ingredients or nutritional values of their products. Therefore, we never really know what is in those flavored bottles. Perhaps it’s hopeful thinking on my part. I like to think they are using all natural fruit flavors.

This is not an “elevated” drink, but it’s great for the super-hot days we have in Texas! It is refreshing and goes down like a kid’s flavored drink. With two and a half ounces of alcohol, it will sneak up on you. Consume wisely.

For the ingredients, make sure you are using alcohol you enjoy. I like Dripping Springs Distilling for the orange vodka. They make it with real orange peels in the distilling process, and it really tastes like oranges! Instead of simple syrup, I use liquid Stevia to sweeten this drink. Leave it out or add less if you do not want it so sweet.

So, let’s make this drink!

Cheers!

  • Rocks or mule glass
